This is the Christmas stocking my mom made for my niece K. How cute is this?? She's an excellent seamstress. She also made a baptismal dress for K that is so pretty. I'll have to see about getting a pic of it up here. :) Good job Mom!!

Things I'm diggin' (I'm kinda a movie nut in the winter)

I saw this in the theater with my cool friend Kelly and daughter Sage, my chick flick companions. I thought it was cute, Jane (Katherine Heigl ) was such a wedding nut! And the reporter Kevin (James Marsden) was too adorable in this movie.


This is a good movie, super sweet. I like this guy, so goofy, but sweet. :)

I loved this movie. Cute, romantic, a bit sad... It made me giddy and inspired to do my own art. Beatrix Potter was a woman ahead of her time. She kept doing her artwork and pushed to publish with very little support. I really have to get MOTIVATED!

I just finished reading the book Glass Castle. So sad, but pretty amazing how well the kids did considering the way they were brought up. Well written I think. I had a hard time putting it down.

So I've had lasik... I gotta say it's a very odd procedure and I'm glad they medicate you beforehand. Having your eyeball propped open and messed with is something they do in the movies when torturing someone, not something for which you volunteer. Although having good eyesight minus glasses or contacts is a very exciting prospect now that the actual surgery is done.

But anyway, my eyeballs are healing and it's fantastic to not have to worry about contacts. **sigh**

This afternoon someone is going to take a laser and vaporize part of my stroma. That's right, I'm having Lasik. I'm excited about the end result, but not so excited about the "vaporizing".
