20 weeks 4 days preggo
Hubs and I went out to see AVP Volleyball Friday night with some friends and most of us met up at a bar beforehand for a bite to eat. Oddly enough there were news cameras there interviewing peeps (not us). I tried my first non-alcoholic beer and would you believe it, we ended up on tv! A couple people from work saw it. Whoops! :D
We went to see J&J and the kids on Sat. J and Hubs took E* for a bike ride around the block. When they got back his mom asked "how was your ride?" To which E* replies, "my underwear's all bunched up!!"
Later we were all sitting in the living room and I look over to see K* standing beside Hubs's chair trying get a leg up to crawl up and sit on his lap. He's totally oblivious. I pointed it out and he says, "Oh! You want up here?" She sat on his lap and played with the nifty gloves he'd gotten for Christmas that have lights in the pointer fingers. She's such a pretty little thing and has the cutest little giggle.
J* would do this thing where they get on his shoulders and he revs up, kind jogging in place and then runs down the hall with each of them on his shoulders. He did E*'s turn and then we hear a little voice from another room pipe up, "My turn, Daddy!"

Here's a hilarious take on the "Keep Calm and Carry On" posters from Jenny's Bake Shop. I love it!
Also check out this video of this Ukelele playin' girl, she's fantastic! I saw this on Loobylu and had to pass it along.

So I had a sonogram yesterday and we got to see our little peanut. They think it's a girl, but baby was not very energetic so they didn't get a clear view. We saw her rub her eye which was so incredibly sweet. It actually feels almost more surreal to think I'm growing a baby. I thought the sonogram would make it feel more real. It's unbelievable how tiny and well formed they are...

Check out this funky little box from Three Ring Circuits. Cute! It's a steal at $14.50. A great Valentine's present for that special someone.

Cuteness! Love these potholders from Polly Tog Stitches!
The baby has been very active today. It's so bizarre... People keep sending me tests to see what I'm having. I've taken 3 and they all say Girl. Either we are having a girl or we are defying ALL the odds.
Maybe it's pregnancy emotions or the fact that I only got a few hours sleep last night and haven't been sleeping good all week, but I've got a case of the blahs... I really shouldn't have, everyone (with one exception) has been really sweet about me being preggo. I need a nap and some chocolate, and my monkey pajama pants, stat!

So I realized middle of last week that I'd been feeling the baby move all week. I get lots of thumps down low on my belly and a few near my belly button. I thought the first movements I felt would be more subtle but some of these thumps are hard enough I can feel on the outside with my hand. It's quite sporadic so far and I haven't been able to time it so that Hubs can feel it yet.
Babycenter says: Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead.
I just ordered two belly bands from CutieFruity! I can't wait to get them because just last week I hit the point where I can't button my jeans anymore and I have to loosen my belt to sit at my desk. Then every time I get up I have to tighten my belt or give everyone quite a show... :)
CutieFruity's gotten a lot of good reviews and her belly bands are very inexpensive at $10 each, can't wait to try them myself!

Bare belly close up. The bump at 18 wks, in the evening. It's smaller in the morning, throughout the day I gradually distend with what I like to call, The Bloat.
Meanwhile, during the photo session, there is a wiggly fur ball desperately seeking attention. Could you resist this face?
He's a cheese ball. :)
handmade needs your help-please act on this today!
As seen on AngryChicken:
Today is the last day in get in your comments to the CPSC regarding the new mandatory testing for all items made for kids under 12 that is going into effect in 35 days.
There is a ton of info out there on this but in a nutshell— in response to freaky happenings regarding toy safety in the last year, the CPSP has written up a crazy-rigid testing procedure that will pretty much wipe out handmade toys and items for kids under 12. Not to be dramatic, but it's true. All items for sale, handmade or not, would have to be tested by a 3rd party and it would be so cost prohibitive that handmade items would perish and so would the shops that carry handmade items for sale. For instance, a crafter couldn't sew a bib from my book to sell, nor could anyone sell a handmade doll on etsy, or even a knitted cap or diaper cover without paying a 3rd party to test the item for $1000 of dollars. Insane!
So, what to do?

This site has a ton of information, including online petitions, documents to send to senators, letters, logos and the like. It fully explains the restrictions and proposed changes to the wording of the CPSC act to make it handmade friendly. Check it out. This site also is well organized and has a lot of useful links.
If you feel so inclined, please, please, please get in your comments and online petitions today and hopefully this won't go into effect the way it is written now, which would totally suck. Thank you!
