Some friends and I are studying Ann Whitford Paul's wonderful book Writing Picture Books. 
I tried studying it on my own, but didn't stick with it. Hopefully with a group we can power through.

I'm hoping that after Writing Picture Books we can move on to other great books. Here's the list we've compiled:

Just a shout-out for a great guide that Linda Ashman just published: The Nuts and Bolts Guide to Writing Picture Books. Lots of examples from 2012 and 2013 that you will recognize, and clear concise tips. Available for download on her website!

Thank you Cathy! I've added that to my list here and to the list in WbW. Linda Ashman's books are so neat! And ever since I heard she writes her books, her husband critiques and then she submits; I've thought Linda Ashman must be a picture book ninja. :D
