I rented Penelope, which was a very lovely movie, gorgeous colors, sets, costumes. The movie was sweet, but seemed a bit short to me; I would have liked more character development. More of her friendship with Annie and the bartender, etc. Picky picky, right?

Saw Mamma Mia. Mamma Mia is set in Greece so there's gorgeous scenery mixed with fun Abba songs, terrible singing by Pierce Brosnan and cheesy acting by all in the cast. Cute fluffy movie. :)
Pooch and I went mountain biking Sunday. It was HOT! I'd stop at any puddle or stream so he could lay down in an attempt to cool off. The path I like to take we go by a little pond that he likes to jump into. So after taking his swim he was doing his customary "drying off" by rolling around in the grass. He was right on the edge of the pond, head downhill, getting precariously close to falling in. I warned him, but... BLOOP, in he went. haha! Kinda slid in head first and then somersaulted around. Kooky dog.

I'm loving this top from Chopstix Waits.
I hope all of you have tomorrow off like I do. I'm really looking forward to more chill time!
More silliness from the home of Magpieskinnies. I told C that I was nervous/upset about a work dealy and here's how it went down after that:
C: Don't worry, you'll be fine and you'll be bouncin' around like a rubber chicken.
Me (laughing): What? That's weird. I'm going to say that to you the next time you're stressed.
C: You can't say that! That one's mine.
Me: Okay then I'll say, Don't worry C, it'll be fine and you'll be eating leaves off the top of a tree like a giraffe. You'll be swimmin' like a plastic wind up frog.
Okay, so we're weird. Sue me.

My mom told me some funny things my nephews have been saying. I can't wait until my little niece is old enough to be saying her own funnies!
My younger brother and his son:
Dad: What color is your truck?
Son: I have no idea...
(He'll be 2 in a few months and had never said THAT before!)
My older brother and his wife have someone from Parents As Teachers come visit and she's been working with E (he'll be 3 in a few months) on enunciating words. Apparently she was trying to get him to say naPkin, instead of naKkin and he wouldn't do it. Then a few days later while eating dinner E spilled something and he says, "Napkin, napkin Please!........ But when Monique Here.... I say Nakkin." haha!
He's such a tease, I can't believe someone so little is so ornery. haha!

Last night:
Me: How come we haven't made out lately?
C: We're like the Hamilton's!!!
Me: (laughing) Wha? Who are the Hamilton's?
C: I mean the Walton's....
We've loved having you visit us family. You make us feel like the Hamiltons. Whoever they are.

Humorous encounters of late (at least I found them humorous, but I'm kinda weird)...
Talking about movie Pride and Prejudice:
Me: Can you imagine calling your husband Mr.?
J: Well, those were different times, but maybe if you were angry with him...
Me: When I'm angry with Hubs I call him b*h*le. Mr. B*h*le seems a bit formal.
Talking about bread:
Me: I'd like to try making my own bread.
P: Do you have a bread machine?
Me: No...
P: Well how are you going to do it then?
Me: People did make bread before bread machines...
Finding Hubs's passport in the second place he had looked after going through every single thing we own to find it (also the same place he found our marriage cert. after "losing" it).
Me: Next time you lose something I think I should look through that drawer.
Hubs: I was looking through this drawer like a monkey lookin' for fleas!
Me: I think you were looking through that drawer like a monkey lookin' for a banana, not a passport.
haha! Ohhh... good times. ;)
And here's a funny Daily Chuck pic from Dooce.

We went to my niece's first b-day party this weekend. She's a sweet little girl and quite the cutie. :)
I had a good time goofing with the boys, they played a funny version of peekaboo and were cracking themselves up. J is a buster, C's mom think he looks a lot like C when he was small.
I taught E a new word (it's so fun being an aunt). We were sitting on the couch and he pulled his socks off. Then he turned his foot over and said, "i have stuff in there" (blue lint from his socks). I said, you've got toe jam. So I told him to run and tell his mom that he had toe jam. He kept going "I got toe jam in me!" (squinching up his nose on the toe jam part.) haha!
Good times... He had a parents as teachers meeting and when the teacher asked him what he wanted to finger paint he said a solar system. She'd not heard that one before, surprisingly. ha! He's a funny little man. ;)

We were awakened at 4 a.m. by loud meowing. Since we don't have a cat, this seemed slightly peculiar. :) We got up and looked around for awhile and then finally tried to go back to sleep. Only every time I'd start to nod off I'd hear a sound and think that cat was in our room. It really sounded like it was in the house, but when Hubs left for work he saw kitty tracks in the snow on the front sidewalk. Guess he just stopped by to say hi. At 4 a.m.
So today I'm feeling less than stellar. How do parents with kids, especially babies, do it? I need a nap, seriously. zzzzzzzzzzzzZzzzzzzzzzzzz

C & I went to see my older brother's family and my folks yesterday. My niece K looks just like her mom, she's so pretty. She's going to be one in a couple weeks, unbelievable And my nephew E, who's 2 1/2? Well, he's as cute as a button and looks just like his dad. And he's a hoot.
Quotes from the boy:
Upon getting up close to the elephants at the zoo - "They smell poopy", "There are lots of cords" (he's very into appliances and cords - pretends to plug in toys in -via pieces of string stuck in books or between cushions).
Sitting on my lap after tooting- "Maymay, I smell something. Are you poopy?"
He kept saying - "Are you Kooky bad cat?" (Kooky is the nickname for my poor cat who isn't fond of strangers, but is quite fond of showing her lack of fondness for strangers - via hissing and swatting). Then he started just calling me Kooky and it sounded like cookie, so I called him cracker. He thought that was hilarious for a while. haha!
When he gets especially tickled, he says, "OHhhhh Poppa" or "OHhhhh Maymay" etc. Not necessarily the name of whomever amused him.
He was sitting beside me, reaching around me to pet our Aunt Ann's ex-guide dog Cleo and he put his arm around me and said, "Maymay, I love you." Melt my heart why don'tcha.
He's a honey and so is his little sister K. She's starting to talk now, she says Dada and Doggie and duck. She keeps a close watch on E and is often amused by his craziness. :) She's walking and crawling.
