Interesting boy names

Monday, May 2, 2011

When I was pregnant with Peep and looking for girl names I came across some strange names (in my opinion, sorry if this is your name)...  Now that I'm looking for names again, here are the odd boy names I've seen:

Adoption
Annabelle (what?)
Annmarie (seriously, do you want your kid to get in fights at school?)
Beetle
Egbert
Gandolf (I liked LOTR, but come on!)
Pope
Sake

Seeds...

We had a mouse in the house a while back.... I finally found what he did with the bird seed he cobbed. :)

What's in the bucket?

Friday, October 23, 2009

About a month ago I went out by the back porch and grabbed this blue bucket to water some plants.  When something rustled in the bottom, I dropped it (and screamed if you must know). I have NO idea how these little guys got in there!!

Cute as a button...

Our little love - could she BE any cuter?  :D

We have gone to so many festivals and outdoor events and sites since Peep's entered the world.  She has been to a Mud Bog, Applefest, Jesse James Days, Watkins Mill, even the annual picnic of our utilities company.  She LOVES to be outside and to people watch and she's as good as gold.  I think we both might get cabin fever this winter.

I'm thinking that perhaps we should take a cruise.  Now if I could just remember to buy a lotto ticket so that I'd have a slight chance of winning!

2 pairs of overalls (1 brand new Gymboree - came with one of the onesies, orig. $45)
1 pair of pants
4 sleepers (one 12mo, but it had hippos on it, too cute!)
3 onesies
1 funny elephant book
1 pair Gymboree shoes, look brand new
1 bohemian dress
1 maternity outfit (shirt and capris)
changing pad
$32!!!!!

A friend and I went to the Moms of Multiples Sale and a KidsCloset.biz sale yesterday.  I wasn't overly impressed with the first sale.  A lot of stuff was stained around the neck and some stuff was pretty pricey for being used.  The second sale was half off because it was their last day and I got a lot of good deals.

These are my spoils from last weekend.  Two dresses and a wee sweater for $7.   I got a few kid's books too, 25 cents each.  I heart bargains!!

Here are some deals I got a while back from thrift stores.  I think I spent maybe $10?  I love the little onesies (frogs, clouds, stripes) not to mention the crocodile sleeper!

Work - blog...

Friday, February 27, 2009

It's hard for me to work and have a blog especially I have read about people (Dooce) getting fired for blogging. It worked out well for her, I'm sure she's much happier doing her own thing, but...

Any bloggers out there? How do you come up with blog content, but keep your privacy intact? Do coworkers know about your blog?

Sad and blue...

"Just a dream within a dream" Print from Bellatrix Art.  What a lovely melancholy piece.  Perfect for my mood today.

I'm feeling awfully blah today...  I had a rough morning, with the snow.  I defrogged, scraped and warmed up the car and then drove a block from home only to have my windshield freeze over on the inside.  I pulled over in a driveway and about slid in the ditch.  *sigh*  And the day hasn't really improved from there...

Shake a tailfeather

This song makes me shake my booty. Ummm hmmm...

And I watched Step Up 2- The Streets yesterday. A bit cheesy as you might have guessed, but the dance scene at the end was fantastic.

Wickedly smooth...

Monday, November 3, 2008

Some very cool friends of ours gave us a little present when they came out to our bonfire. The wrapping and the present are so cool, just like Marsha and Arthur. Vampyre Vodka, "Wickedly Smooth." I love it!

An adorable bag from RainbowSwirlz.

We had a bonfire Sat. and it was a blast, but I forgot to take pics. Doh!! I'm so fortunate to have such a great group of friends. C's sister was here too. She is an amazing woman. She's SO independent, amazing with animals, tremendously sweet and a great cook. She made a white peach cobbler this weekend that was a little slice of heaven. So good to see you J!!

J took the munchkins trick or treating at a nursing home. Aren't they adorable?? I love that E's a skunk. He remembers me saying to him once, "P.U. you stink!" and he still finds that hilarious a year or so later, so you can see why he might enjoy being a skunk for a day.

My other nephew was to be a parrot and his parents were going to be pirates, but when he realized he was going to be something different he changed his mind about being a parrot. Maybe my brother, his dad, should be the parrot.... haha! I can't wait to see pics of the pirate trio.

And just a bit more Halloween goodness... Click this link to get directions from the talented Jennifer Murphy on how to make a Pumpkin Man.

Awesome birthday present

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

My older bro called last week to wish me happy birthday and he put his kids on the phone. K (1 yr old) was first and she said "Hap Burt."

Then E (3 yr old) got on, he said, "Happy Birthday." I thanked him and then he told me, "you smell with your nose." I said, "You're right, good job! What do you do with your eyes?" He said, "See" and then he said, "Blink." "I said right! That's good! What do you do with your mouth?" "Talk," he said. He's such a smarty. I asked him who his favorite teacher was (it was Miss W. last weekend) "Miss C.," he says. "What about Miss W?" I say. "Her too," he replies.

K got back on the phone and said, "Happu Burtdee." She is so adorable. I had given her mom a rock that my other nephew J (2 yr old) had given me. She gave it to K to play with and K was saying, MaeMae brought rock, MaeMae rock, MaeMae rock.

Lake days are winding down...

Thursday, October 2, 2008

C and I went to the lake Saturday. The water was a bit chilly. I would pretty much hop in and hop right out. C apparently thought it was quite humorous. This is just one pic in quite a serious. This is all I'm willing to show though. :)

Projects

Monday, September 8, 2008

I bought this nightstand this weekend. I am planning on painting it cuz country blue isn't my thing. Maybe granny apple smith green? Red? Haven't decided yet and our room decor is still up in the air too. I have a comforter I LOVE for my old double bed, but haven't found one I love for our queen bed....

C bought a new computer this weekend. Got it home, opened it up and guess what he found INSTEAD of a computer? Some 3 lb. weights. It was so bizarre. Best Buy was really cool about it, thank heavens.

Oh Monday...

Monday, August 25, 2008

Hubs and I just partook in an excellent vintage (aka $4.69 from the cart of the nearly expired things at the grocery), Hardys Cabernet Sauvignon...

And then he said to me:  Your eyes look glazed...  You been eatin' jelly donuts?

Oh and I talked to my youngest nephew tonight, who is such a honey.  He said "Hi *!  How are you doing?"  And then he said, "Daddy talk on Daddy's phone."  He's pretty good at the talkin' bit for a 2 year old!!

"Awwwk"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

That's the sound Hubs made when this guy jumped on his arm as he walked out the door the other day. Never heard that before, typically he's QUITE unflappable. You can't scare him, tickle him, nothin'.... Hee hee... :D

This guy was large, probably 6 or so inches from head to tail....  Of course I'd have squawked if he'd jumped on me, but that's just a given, nothing noteworthy.  Magpie squawked, screamed, jumped?  Of course she did, YAWN.

Anniversary...

Monday, August 11, 2008

Today C and I have been married for 1 YEAR!! I can't even believe it!!

You're awesome C. Thanks for the laughs, being a great companion and for the beautiful earrings. ;) Love ya! I couldn't dream of a better partner. (except for your whole fascination with World of Warcraft - that's just weird. hahaha!).

After eating out for our anniversary we came home and made ice cream in our Cuisinart Ice Cream and Sorbet maker, following the simple vanilla recipe. MAN was it rich and lovely.
